The method of auto body repair used for small scuffs and scratches along the bumper is called “spot repair”. The contours of the body of the vehicle hide any auto body repair work and any areas where paint was blended. It is not recommended to use this method for areas of the car including the trunk, roof, hood, or doors. Typically when one of those areas is affected, the entire panel is repainted and finished for higher quality collision repair.
